Prayer Request for Sal Carmosino!

I received an email from Sal this evening and I immediately called him at home after reading it.  Sal was in the Emergency Room and after a series of tests:  EKG, Chest X-ray, Blood Work and finally a CT Scan.  They found that he has a nodule in his lung.  They also found that he has an aneurysm in his heart.

He has a follow-up appointment with his doctor and will also be referred to a Cardiologist.  So, with Sal's permission and using his exact words:

"I need St. Jude again and any support I can get....I am in shock and disbelief, as I always thought I took care of myself pretty well except for some minor annoyances......I guess no one is immune to anything."

I know I can count on our Forever Friends for prayers to St. Jude.  Tomorrow, I will go to my church and put Sal's name on the board to pray for him and I'm asking all of you to please pray.

I will keep all of you posted with updates as I receive them from Sal.  In the meantime, keep praying.  I strongly believe in the power of prayers and Sal does too.

You're the best!  I know I can count on all of you.

Hugs, Rose

Update on Scotty!

I spoke with Scotty late this afternoon.  His speech sounds clear and not slurred.  He was able to walk today and he said the doctors were impressed that he is doing so well after the stroke.

I told Scotty that I have all of you praying for him.  I think the prayers are working!

You guys are the best!

Should anyone wish to speak to Scotty personally, his direct line in the hospital is 207-490-7519.

Hugs, Rose

Prayer Requst!

Robert Scott (Scotty) is hosptialized.  It is my understanding that he has been in the hospital for the past three days with the possibility of another stroke.  I don't have any further information to pass along at this time.

Happy New Year from Richard Cummings!

Happy New Year Rose. Even with all the cold and snow we have, there is always golden sunshine to be found, may 2011 be a great one for you.

Happy New Year 2011

I received a lovely surprise from Donna Toothaker Ying on Xmas Eve!

FedEx delivered this beautifully decorated box from Donna Toothaker Ying yesterday on Christmas Eve!  I just had to take a picture of it.

It was quite a surprise and inside was many, many sweet gifts that she observed from my Roses Are Read Blog.  Inside the box:  a miniature shoe and miniature handbag that are also photo holders, a book with an angel doll and a lovely poem, paper plates with snowman napkins, a pair of miniature ice skates ornaments for the tree and this amazing festive box!

Thank you Donna.  Wow, how sweet and thoughtful of you!

I called Donna to say thank you and she said she started this little collection of things in November and had fun doing it.  She felt it was the least she could do to say thank you to me for bringing all of us "Classmates" together and she said she is so appreciative of The Lantern which I created on June 1, 2008 and I had no clue how to do this and gather us all together and it took some time to catch on and here we are today all conversing with each other and having luncheons, being there for each other through our happy moments and our sad moments.

Donna said she is not too computer savvy and finds it difficult to leave "comments" but wanted to let me know how much she enjoys The Lantern!

It is my pleasure to keep the Lantern going for everyone.  I can't do it without your input so keep on sending me your stories to copy and paste for others to see what's going on in your life and I have the fun part of creating a graphic to go along with your story.

Thank you my dear friend.
Hugs, Rose

Great Shares from Meri!

Rose,

Thanks again for another beautiful Christmas wish and for all you do to "keep us together".

It has been very hectic this holiday season. . . what with parties, luncheons, Christmas Boutique, potluck dinners, dancing events and games-playing celebrations. . . and time slips away. Before you know it, it's too late to say what you wanted to those you'd like to say it to, so I'll take a moment to wish you and all of our dear friends and classmates a wonderful holiday season, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.

Hope we all get together again soon.

Meri (formerly Merri, but that's another story)

This look familiar to some sorority girls?

I couldn't create a graphic for sorority girls but since Meri created this graphic for our yearbook, I thought it would be great to add the cheerleader with the blonde hair to this Post!  As you can see, I'm enjoying my new All In One printer, scanner, copier!

P.S.  Remember to click on the cookie shaped like a Christmas Tree and watch the Reindeer hop and then stop to eat it!

Merry Christmas!

Right now there are  two natural reasons to celebrate:  Christmas, and the New Year. So pull out all the stops. Celebrate! But don’t let your celebrations end there. Look for every reason imaginable to celebrate: the last day of autumn, the first day of winter, the first snowfall, the shortest day of the year, a child’s progress report, birthdays, anniversaries, significant milestones, important events.

Celebrate!

P.S.  Look for the Christmas Cooke and click on it and watch the Reindeer jump over to it and eat it.
