Great Send from Richard Cummings in honor of Labor Day 2010
Hi Rose,
In honor of Labor Day 2010, Let me take you back in time--sixty years ago, in fact:
On September 4, 1950, World War II hero Dwight D. Eisenhower passionately called for an American Crusade for Freedom and support of Radio Free Europe in a speech broadcast nation-wide over the four major radio networks.
In my article posted today at historytimes.com, I briefly look at this important Cold War speech. There are photographs of Eisenhower signing a Freedom Scroll, the Freedom Scroll itself, newspapers advertisements from 1950 in behalf of the Crusade for Freedom and RFE, and one of the package of Freedom Scrolls sent to New York for eventual delivery to Berlin with General Lucius D. Clay.
If you do read it, please make give it a rating and leave a comment, if you wish. Here is the link that should work

Paula Taylor is home from the hospital. Here is her message.
HI ROSE,
I HAD MY SURGERY AND IT WENT WELL. I HAVE STAPLES IN MY NECK FROM MY EAR TO UNDER MY CHIN. I LOOK LIKE I AM WEARING A CHOKER. THE DOCTOR SAID EVERYTHING LOOKED GOOD. I DO NOT KNOW YET IF IT WAS CANCEROUS. HE WILL LET ME KNOW WHEN HE GETS THE RESULTS BACK. I GOT OUT OF THE HOSPITAL ON THURSDAY AND WAS SO GLAD TO BE BACK HOME.
I HAVE NOT BEEN ON LINE OR IN THE BLOG TOO MUCH. I AM STILL GETTING TIRED EASILY AND HAVE LOST 39 POUNDS. I AM STILL ON THE FEEDING TUBE AND DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH LONGER I WILL BE ON IT. IT SUPPLIES ME WITH CALORIES AND PROTEINS. I AM ACTIVE AND WILL BE GOING BACK TO WORK ON TUESDAY. WE WILL SEE HOW IT GOES.
I HAVE GOTTEN ALOT OF EMAILS FROM CLASSMATES AND THEY HAVE BEEN GREATLY APPRECIATED. I HAVE ANSWERED ALL OF THEM.
THANKS AGAIN ROSE FOR YOUR PRAYERS AND CONCERN. I REALLY APPRECIATE EVERYONE'S EMAILS.
PAULA TAYLOR

HI ROSE,
I WENT TO THE DOCTOR TUESDAY AND HE SCHEDULED ME FOR SURGERY ON MONDAY AUGUST 23RD.
HE DOESN'T KNOW WHAT THE LUMP IS AND THE ONLY WAY TO TAKE CARE OF IT IS TO SURGICALLY REMOVE IT. HE IS ALSO GOING TO REMOVE MY LYMPHNODES. I WILL BE IN THE HOSPITAL FOR AT LEAST 3 DAYS.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR PRAYERS.

Special Request from Carolyn McCleavey! Please Help and Vote!

I received a telephone call from Carolyn McCleavey yesterday with a request.

Please click on the above underlined link. It is self explanatory about the cause Carolyn is requesting. Just read it and at the end of the page it will say click to Vote. It requires a bit of information for support but doesn't cost you a dime to help.
Her group is requesting Pepsi for a $250,000 grant for the cause. It will only take a few minutes of your time to just vote for a good cause.
Let's give a helping hand and take the time to click on vote.Much appreciated!
