Great Shares from Ruthie (Arvanian) Bowler

Hi Rose,

These are pictures of my new grandson, Liam. He's our first grandchild (our daughter and her husband sure took their time reproducing, we're still waiting for our son to marry) born on May 14th. Needless to say we are thrilled and excited, especially nice that they live nearby. He was 9 wks old when we took these pictures and he's a very happy boy.

Congrats Zadie!

Dear Folks:

I am so happy to tell you that our daughter Abbey and her husband Oded gifted us with our first grandchild yesterday. His name is Aviv, which means Spring in Hebrew. What a beautiful name. He is healthy and beautiful, as is our daughter. I have waited a long time to be a "Zadie" and now I am. I promise to follow all the rules of being a grandfather--I will spoil him at every opportunity.

Great Shares from Sal Carmosino regarding the 4th of July!

We will be at Mystic Seaport in Mystic, CT for a celebration of the 1876 Centennial event.   We will be there in Civil War uniforms, as soldiers from the late war as part of the ceremonies.

Everyone there will be in 1870's clothing, as this a re-created WhalingVillage.  There is still one whaling ship there, the last of its kind, the Charles W. Morgan which has been restored.

After songs and speech making including someone reciting the entire Declaration of Independence without reading it, my group will fire a musket salute to conclude the ceremonies.

They will have fireworks that evening over the water.  We always enjoy coming here for this event as another step back in time...this time 1876!

Congrats to Mr. & Mrs. Joe Greenberg!

Dear Rose:

Hope all is well. Happy 4th to all of our classmates and a wish for a wonderful "rest of the year."

My wife and I are on our way down to North Carolina to visit with our daughter and son-in-law and to be there for the birth of our first grandchild (any day now).

Best to all, Joe

Michael Giglio wishing us all a Happy 4th!

Happy 4th of July!

Independence Day honors the birthday of the United States of America and the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776.

It's a day of picnics and patriotic parades, a night of concerts and fireworks, and a reason to fly the American flag.

I will be watching the Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular on TV like I do every year.

What plans do you have?
