Great Shares from Arthur Matarazzo!

Rose, You do a wonderful job with doing this update, unfortunately I do not get the time to read it all the time.

Has anyone found Arthur Sullivan?

Please also email Linda Spagnola and tell her I said hello and sorry to hear her husband is not up to par.

Thank you,

Arthur Matarazzo

P.S. Living in Virginia just outside of Wash D.C.  If we could only bring back the good old days just one more time?

Great Shares from Richard Cummings!

Hi Rose.

I thought I would send you a few postcards:  two from Estonia, where I was last week at a conference.  And, where it was very, very cold. I hope to go back in the summer, when the weather is more conducive to travel.

And an older one from Milano, where I saw the art of ice cream at its finest--I even ate some.  I was cleaning up some old digital files and thought you might enjoy the photos.

Hope you are happy and healthy. Take care, Rich=

Thank You to Donna from Rose!

Your package arrived today! Wow, what an amazing heart shaped box with such adorable gifts inside!

So, sweet and thoughtful of you to think of me on Valentine's Day when I was feeling blue. It would have been my wedding anniversary and I was kinda bummed out. Your gift put a wonderful smile on my face.

I just love these adorable boxes!

Hugs, Rose
P.S.  I'm still nursing my injured knee.  Can't do much other than keeping it elevated and resting.  It is keeping me from my Silver Sneakers Classes and I'm missing my gym.  I have tried to go back twice and it still hurts too much!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Be Mine

Hey you--you're often on my mind;
You’re a terrific person, one of a kind.
I’m sending this poem, because I want to say
I’m thinking of you on Valentine’s Day!

Valentine's Day is not a public holiday. Government offices, stores, schools and other organizations are open as usual. Public transit systems run on their regular schedule. Restaurants may be busier than usual as many people go out for an evening with their spouse or partner. Valentine's Day is also a very popular date for weddings, yes it was my anniversary date.

My Valentine Treasures

Our Forever Friends!

Valentine treasures are people who
have often crossed your mind,
family, friends and others, too,
who in your life have shined
the warmth of love or a spark of light
that makes you remember them;
no matter how long since you’ve actually met,
each one is a luminous gem,
who gleams and glows in your memory,
bringing special pleasures,
and that’s why this Valentine comes to you:
You’re one of those sparkling treasures!

Groundhog Day!

How Did the Groundhog Get a Day of His Own?

The groundhog, often called a woodchuck, is the only mammal to have a day named in his honor. The groundhog's day is February 2. Granted, it's not a federal holiday; nobody gets off work. But still, to have a day named after you is quite a feat.

It stems from the ancient belief that hibernating creatures were able to predict the arrival of springtime by their emergence.

Traditionally, the groundhog is supposed to awaken on February 2, Groundhog Day, and come up out of his burrow. If he sees his shadow, he will return to the burrow for six more weeks of winter. If he doesn’t see his shadow, he remains outside and starts his year, because he knows that spring has arrived early.

Besides, spring always arrives on or near March 21, so whether the groundhog decides to return to his den or remain above ground, the sad fact is spring will always have to wait at least six more weeks.
