Great Shares from Donna (Toothaker) Ying

HI Rose,

It was great to see the old pictures. It is hard to imagine Terry has been gone for awhile.

And what can be said about Richard, He is amazing!

I am proud and happy to mention I listed my first house last week. I staged and sold it in one week. A beautiful waterfront in Moultonborough. Houses on the waterfront are selling. However, yesterday when I got up the temp was - 11 below zero.

We are having an ice fishing contest on Winnipesaukee this week end.  Everyone from my company,The man RE/MAX is in Meredith on the lake Big cold fun. I am passing. I will send you some pics.

Love, Donna Toothaker Ying

Amazing

Rose,

The frozen water drop alive in the sunset last evening was only about one inch long...this morning it was gone.

Hi Rose-

George's e-mail address is:   rjip@rcn.com.
He wants to thank everyone for their calls, visits and for their good wishes. George is now recovering from pneumonia at the Leahy Clinic in Burlington and hopes to be returned to the Woburn Rehab and Nursing Center within a few days.

Thank you

Great Shares from Arthur Buonopane!

Rose,  I did one better. Since George Manzo is right here in Winchester I went to visit him today. To tell you the truth I thought he looked pretty good for what he has gone through. We had a good time reminiscing about our high school days and about 250 names came up. Yours certainly was one and George said to say "hi" to you. He said he doesn't have a computer because I told him about this wonderful website you have set up. His other half came in and she has a computer so I gave her the websites address so she will hopefully log on. George would be perfect for this as he is such an outgoing person. I hope they do so.

Thanks for keeping everyone up to date by email and this way if someone can do something to make the day better for one of our classmates then it's a wonderful life (as Jimmy Stewart did in the movie).

Hope all is nice and toasty down there.

Arthur

He would really appreciate a call.  Thanks for all you do.

More sad news just reported to me by Meri.

Hi Rose,

Just in case you had not heard some more bad news. . . Diane's mother passed away yesterday.  I spoke to Diane this morning and she's on her way to the funeral home to make arrangements.  Vazza's in Revere, probably Friday evening for the wake and Saturday for the funeral.  Such is life. Meri

Dear Meri,

Thank you so much for informing me of Josie's passing.  I adored the woman!  Such a classy lady .....always dressed to perfection and when she walked by you could always capture the scent of Shalimar perfume which she introduced me to years ago and I purchased my first bottle with my first paycheck as a young girl out in the corporate world.   I still wear Shalimar because of Josie. Wow, so many memories of Diane's MOM.  I feel so bad that I'm here in Florida and unable to attend the services for such a great lady and to be close by to my dear friend Diane (Screnci) Beatrice.

I hope that all of our classmates that live close by can attend the services to express your sympathy to the family in their bereavement.  I'm so sadden by this news yet with frequent phone calls from Diane, I knew this day would arrive and Josie would no longer be with us.  I was hoping to see Josie one more time with my next trip up north.

Thank You.................from Rose

Thanks

Thank you to each and everyone of you that sent me birthday greetings with lovely cards, gifts and Ecards and emails and telephone calls expressing your birthday wishes for me!

When I look back on my years living in Revere and going to school with all of you.......gosh, they were some of the best of my life.  I'm blessed with your friendship.

I can't tell you how happy I am that all of you enjoy The Lantern so much and that many of you have re-acquainted yourselves again after so many years.  The mini reunions have become a great hit and we will continue to have them.

Sal, you started something big when you and your wife envited to take me to lunch on one of my trips to Boston, then Diane made a phone call, and others sent an email and these mini reunions began.  Previously one year, Diane got all the girls together at her house.........wow......that was amazing to see everyone again.  It was very gracious of her.  Her hospitality in her lovely home was immeasurable!  View the photo album I created on one of the earlier entries on The Lantern.

Diane, you and John Henry had a fabulous idea to create an online site for our class.  When you asked me to make something special for our class, I didn't know what the heck I was doing at first when I created The Lantern and then it became so much fun when all of you started to participate and joined in with your comments and sending me stories and photos and never letting go of our "Forever Friends".  We are a great bunch.......that's for sure.  I spend many hours on The Lantern and I love doing it for all of you.  I get a kick out of creating the graphics to try and go along with the Great Shares and the Side Bar to the Lantern.

Cheerleader 3Hope we all continue our mutually adoring friendship for many more years to come
...2-4-6-8 and all that.  Cheerleader 1Thanks for giving me something to cheer about!

Fell Special

Thank you dear friends
