I've been guilty of not posting at The Lantern the past few months, but, I have kept up with everything. No excuses, right????
It's been quite a busy year for us with travel. As some of you may know, we were in Phoenix in June for 'The Jordan Cup'. It was a golf tournament and fundraiser to honor Mike Jordan with the funds going to the hospice who took care of Mike. It was very timely in that Mike passed away in September.
We also had traveled to Mendocino and Tahoe in April. Colorado in August and Boston in September.
This past Sunday we lost a very close friend to lung cancer. Jack's golf buddy and as he has said "his surrogate brother". We will miss him terribly.
So, here's to a New Year and most of all to good health.
Hi Ann it was so nice to hear that you are back on line, I am just catching up on back correspondence as I was at our house in Arizona for a few weeks. You two do a lot of traveling, is it for golf or family? No matter it is nice to just travel.... Dora
We are finally getting some much needed rain after a very warm January.
Hope you are all well and surviving winter. I've been absent and finally sitting down to catch-up.
It's been a very busy few weeks. As I posted here, we lost a close friend in December. Jack and I have been helping his wife by keeping her busy. Jack has been taking their 14 year old grandson to play golf once a week and has arranged to get golf lessons for him. His grandfather was a mentor and had been helping to prepare him for tryouts for the high school golf team. Jack has picked-up the reins. Tryouts are next week.
Soooo, last night we were watching the Celtics and in the last period the camera focused on a fan and who was it but Barb LaGorio. Hope I've spelled her last name right. Can't rely on my memory. It was so great to see her. Rose, have you had any contact with her?
Dora, where is your home in AZ? We love to travel. Jack likes to drive so we travel by car mostly. We make at least one trip a year to Boston to see family. After working 31 years for American Airlines, he prefers to drive most places. We do have fun.
Took a 3 day trip to Mammoth Mountain, a 6 hour drive, last week to be in snow. It was just gorgeous. Mammoth is in the Eastern Sierra. The base is over 130 feet and counting with this latest storm.
Ann, nice to hear from you. wow, you caught Barbra Lagoria at the celtic game, you have a good eye! Glad that the 'left coast' hasn't completely taken you over, at least I am assuming that you watched the game for the Celtics ! My house in Arizona is in Goodyear. It is just west of Phoenix. A very up and coming community. We love it there. Hopefully Charlie can retire next year and off we will go. Dora
How kind of you and Jack to help with their grandchild. That means so much. Golf is such a wonderful sport. I hope the child makes the tryouts.
I have to ask Diane Screnci Beatrice if she has Barb Lagorio's email address. Barb's name is not on my list. Too funny that you saw her on TV at a Celtic's game! I continue to try and gather more emails.
I will send you the list of emails that I currently have in case you choose to email the gang!
Rose,
ReplyDeleteAt long last here is a photo of us. It took my son coming home for Christmas to get this done.
My New Year's resolution is to take lessons at Apple to better utilize the computer. The rest is up to you right now...
Hope your Christmas was bright and you have a very Happy New Year!
Anne & Jack
Hey Anne & Jack,
ReplyDeleteThrilled to receive your email today which included a great photo of the both of you!
I know everyone will love to view your Album.
Hugs, Rose
Anne, the west coast seems to suit you just fine. Best wishes to you and Jack for a great New Year.

Anne & Jack,
ReplyDeleteI would like to express my heartfelt condolences for the loss of your dear friend.
Did you see the photos listed under Paula Taylor's Album of photos taken at the Celebration of Life for Mike Jordan?
Hugs, Rose
Thank you Rose.
ReplyDeleteYes, we did see Paula's photos. They were great. Wish we could have been there.
I'm going to spend more time posting in 2009 and more pictures. Some of you are so great at doing so......Meri, Joanne, Dora, Jeanine...
Thanks again, Rose, for all your work at putting this all together. It is very much appreciated.
