  2. Dear Rose:

You are more than kind and generous with your time to do this kind of thing.

As I looked through the list of October birthdays, it brought back such fond memories of people I haven't seen and/or heard from in so many years. This is one of the true values of the work you do with The Lantern. Just provoking these memories is a good deed.

When I saw names like William King, Joanne Jouve, Pricilla Freda, Roxanne Fisher, Leonard and Richard Skolnick, Lena Stuppia, Paul Santosuosso, William Melchionno, and Wesley Covitz (not to mention so many others), it brought back images of their faces and memories of our high school years.

Thanks for doing this and thanks for giving us such a wonderful gift as The Lantern website.

    Be well, Joe Greenberg

  3. Joe,

Thank you for your kind words.

I truly get great pleasure devoting a great deal of time to the Lantern, as it makes so many of us very happy including myself!

It feels good to know it is appreciated and many of us have reacquainted with each other after so many years!

    Hugs, Rose

  4. Seeing the names of some dear friends most certainly does bring back memories
Mary Williams, that pony tail ! I still have a picture of you dancing at my sixteenth birthday party !
Lee Stupia, I still remember going to a Salem Frat party with you and Ellen and stopping at your house first...(rum and coke) LOL
Chuckie working at the dairy queen.

Gosh the list goes on and on, I love seeing it each month and pausing to remember..

    Happy birthday !

  5. Hi Folks,

I just had to correct some October Birthdays that were incorrect in the yearbook.

    Hugs, Rose

  6. I agree with Dora and Joe. . .I, too, get nostalgic when seeing the names that Rose so diligently lists for us each month. And I'm saddened, too, when I think of Terri and our other dear friends who are no longer with us.
On the other hand, how grateful I am to you, Rose, for your dedication. . . I hope you know how much we all appreciate your efforts! We are so lucky that you have taken on this awesome job and have done so well with it. May you continue to do so.
Anyway, just want you to know I'll very much miss seeing you and all the others (especially Janet) at DeMaino's next week, but as you know, I will be away.
And, if the idiotic Islamists, the maniacal Muslims, don't interfere, I'll be visiting Prague, Vienna, Bratislava and Budapest for two weeks and then, God willing, I will be back home October 20th.
And, as much as I'm looking forward to this trip, I am a bit sad to miss all the fun with my RHS friends. I just hope that we have another one soon and that I'll be around to attend!
Have a great time and I hope to read Sal's excellent summary of the day when I return.
    Meri
(I'm signing this because I had trouble posting yesterday. . . hope it works today!)

  7. Meri, that sounds like a great trip to be going on. I heard that some of those places are like stepping back in time...
Lets hope you have some pictures to share with your "Lantern" friends....
