My friend, Pete Russo, and I were reminiscing by email about the days at
Revere High and George Kenneally's name came up whose name all our classmates
will recognize as our esteemed history teacher. I knew he did play pro football
way back but had no idea just how good he was or how smart he was.
There are perhaps a lot of our classmates that do not know about Mr.
Kenneally; I never remembered him talking about his previous career. I do
remember his booming voice and big size. When we are 16 and 17 years old, we miss
a lot of things going on around us.
I am giving you a url address and if you wish after you google it you might
want to post it. A lot of our classmates might be surprised.
Click on the above link to read about Mr. Kenneally.
Quite interesting.

ReplyDeleteArthur,
Where in the world did you find this story about George Kenneally, our high school teacher?
I knew he played some NFL football but never knew he was so involved in the beginnings of pro football.
In reading that story, I wondered how he ended up at Revere High. He was quite a man.
He was our homeroom teacher in our junior year in room 10B in one of the basement rooms.
I remember him being a big man with a booming voice. Maybe if he was the football coach the team would have been better.
It's too bad he passed away only 6 years after we graduated. Little did we know that we had a hero for a teacher.

ReplyDeleteHi Sal:
Yes, Mr. Kenneally was our classroom teacher but how in the world do you remember it was 10b?
As I stated my friend,Pete Russo and I were emailing about our days at RHS and Mr. Kenneally's name came up and I said I remember he played pro football so we said let's google him and that article was came up. He sure was something and if he played in todays age his name would be all over the internet and newspapers across the country and maybe the world.
You mentioned our football team and if I remember right, one year they went undeafted but were disqualified from their perfect record because of one player although I don't remember why he was disqualified.
I hope that you have been feeling well. and let's hope we finally get some good weather for a change.
Buona Pasqua to you and your family.
Hope you find plenty of Easter eggs.
Arthur
Thanks for sharing the information I have just printed it out so Joe can read it also I know he will enjoy reading about Mr. Kenneally It is nice to hear about people from our past that we just took for granted as what they were to us just teachers we were of that age so into ourselves we didn't really think about what went on in their lives unless they directly spoke about which they never did but now we so enjoy hearing about them thanks again for sharing it Jeanine Erricolo White
