Great Send from Joanne Nardone!

"Lexophile" is a word used to describe those who have a love for words, such as "you can tune a piano, but you can't tuna fish", or "to write with a broken pencil is pointless."
A competition to see who can come up with the best lexphillies is held every year in an undisclosed location. This year's winning submission is posted at the very end.

.....When fish are in schools, they sometimes take debate.

.....A thief who stole a calendar got twelve months.

.... When the smog lifts in Los Angeles U.C.L.A.

.... The batteries were given out free of charge.

.... A dentist and a manicurist married. They fought tooth and nail.

.... A will is a dead giveaway..

.... With her marriage, she got a new name and a dress.

.....A boiled egg is hard to beat.

.... When you've seen one shopping Center you've seen a mall.

.... Police were called to a day care Center where a three-year-old was resisting a rest.

.... Did you hear about the fellow whose whole left side was cut off? He's all right now.

.... A bicycle can't stand alone; it is two tired.

.... When a clock is hungry it goes back four seconds.

.... The guy who fell onto an upholstery machine is now fully recovered.

.... He had a photographic memory which was never developed.

.... When she saw her first strands of grey hair she thought she'd dye.

.... Acupuncture is a jab well done. That's the point of it.

And the cream of the wretched crop:

.... Those who get too big for their pants will be exposed in the end.

Happy Mother's Day!

Your Mother Is Always With You...
Your mother is always with you...
She's the whisper of the leaves
as you walk down the street.
She's the smell of bleach
in your freshly laundered socks.
She's the cool hand on your brow
when you're not well.
Your mother lives inside your laughter.
She's crystallized in every tear drop.
She's the place you came from,
your first home...
She's the map you follow
with every step that you take.
She's your first love
and your first heart break...
and nothing on earth can separate you.
Not time, Not space...
Not even death...
will ever separate you
from your mother...
You carry her inside of you...

Great Shares from Jeanine Erricolo White!

Hi Rose,  A friend of mine sent me this writing and I kept it and read it often It helps me to put life in perspective and it helps me.

I hope it can give you a little bit of peace of mind as it gives me.  I hope our friendship and knowing I care helps just a little also.

Love, Jeanine

Turning Winter:  This is very thought provoking.  Makes you stop and think.  Read slowly!

AND THEN IT IS WINTER

You know..time has a way of moving quickly and catching you unaware of the passing years.  It seems just yesterday that I was young, just married and embarking on my new life with my mate.  Yet in my way, it seems like eons ago, and I wonder where all the years went.  I know that I lived them all.  I have glimpses of how it was back then and of all my hopes and dreams.

But here it is…the winter of my life and it catches me by surprise…How did I get here so fast?  Where did the years go and where did my youth go?  I remember well seeing older people through the years and thinking that those older people were years away from me and that winter was so far off that I could not fathom it or imagine fully what it would be like.

But, here it is…my friends are retired and getting gray, they move slower and I see an older person now.  Some are in better and some worse shape than me but, I see the great change…Not like the ones that I remember who were young and vibrant but like me, their age is beginning to show and we are now those older folks that we used to see and never thought we'd be. Each day now, I find that just getting a shower is a real target for the day!  And, taking a nap is not a treat anymore….It’s mandatory!  Cause if I don’t of my own free will…I just fall asleep where I sit!

And so, now I enter into this new season of my life unprepared for all the aches and pains and the loss of strength and ability to go and do things that I wish I had done but never did!  But, at least I know, that though the winter has come, and I’m not sure how long it will last…this I know, that when it’s over on this earth…it’s over.  A new adventure will begin!

Yes, I have regrets.  There are things I wish I hadn’t done…things I should have done, but indeed, there are many things I’m happy to have done.  It’s all in a lifetime.

So, if you’re not in your winter yet…let me remind you, that it will be here faster than you think.  So, whatever you would like to accomplish in your life, please do it quickly!  Don’t put things off too long!  Life goes by quickly.  So, do what you can today, as you can never be sure whether this is your winter or not!  You have no promise that you will see all the seasons of your life….so, live for today and say all the things that you want to your family and friends.

You have three sizes of clothes in your closet, two of which you will never wear again.  But, Old is good in some things:  Old Songs, Old movies and best of all, OLD FRIENDS.

Stay well, “OLD FRIENDS”!

Great Sends from Arthur Buonopane!

My friend, Pete Russo, and I were reminiscing by email about the days at Revere High and George Kenneally's name came up whose name all our classmates will recognize as our esteemed history teacher. I knew he did play pro football way back but had no idea just how good he was or how smart he was.

There are perhaps a lot of our classmates that do not know about Mr. Kenneally; I never remembered him talking about his previous career. I do remember his booming voice and big size. When we are 16 and 17 years old, we miss a lot of things going on around us.

I am giving you a url address and if you wish after you google it you might want to post it. A lot of our classmates might be surprised.

Sad News to report

I received an email from Linda (Spagnolo) Lattanzi today and she informed me that George DiPesa passed away yesterday.

She spoke to Bobbi DiPesa and obviously she is having a rough time of this loss.  I don't have George DiPesa's email address.  I know his wife can use a lot of hugs from us.

I emailed Linda back to request for Bobbi's email address.

Today is also the anniversary of Peter Lattanzi's passing.

Rest in Peace George.
Rest in Peace Peter.

Great Shares from Jeanine Erricolo!
