Prayer Request for Rose

I just got the biopsy report from my Dermatologist office and it is confirmed to be a Basal Carcinoma located on my right side about four/five inches above my waist right under the bra area.  It has been there for about three years and each year my doctor kept saying, it was nothing but this last appointment he decided it needed to be tested. The biopsy was not too uncomfortable.

I will be having surgery on Friday, April 10th at 11:00 AM

I'm always requesting prayers for others and now I need them.  I do believe in the power of prayers.

Diane Whiles (Peter Zaccone's girlfriend) offered to take me to the doctor's office, wait in the waiting room until the surgery is over and then drive me home.  Is that sweet or what!  Bless her for being such a good friend.  I, normally do not like to impose on anyone but her offer is a blessing.  I'm a tad nervous, make that alot nervous!

The doctor is going to do the surgery in his office, so I won't be knocked out.  I hope he numbs it real good.  I have a high tolerance to pain but I prefer not to be in any pain.

I will post again after the surgery is over.  Thanking you all in advance, as I know I have all your prayers because you are the best friends evah!

Hugs, Rose

My special Revere friends!

Glad you are all away from the snow and frigid temps of New England and vacationing down here in Florida enjoying a lovely evening with me!

You’re such a pleasure in my life. I hope that you can see how meaningful our friendship is. You’re a total joy to me.

In this ever changing world, it's nice to know that one thing is forever, you'll always be my friends.

Thank you for a lovely evening at The Seagate Hotel in Delray Beach, a stop at Ben & Jerry's ice cream, a stroll down The Avenue and a stop at a coffee shop that I can't remember the name of the place!

Great Shares from Diane Screnci Beatrice

Happy Friendship Week!

If you will take the time to read these. I promise you'll come away with an enlightened perspective. The subjects covered affect us all on a daily basis:

They're written by the late Andy Rooney (ex-60 Minutes USA), a man who had the gift of saying so much with so few words. Enjoy.......

I've learned.... That the best classroom in the world is at the feet of an elderly person.

I've learned.... That when you're in love, it shows.

I've learned.... That just one person saying to me, 'You've made my day!' makes my day.

I've learned.... That having a child fall asleep in your arms is one of the most peaceful feelings in the world.

I've learned.... That being kind is more important than being right.

I've learned.... That you should never say no to a gift from a child.

I've learned.... That I can always pray for someone when I don't have the strength to help him in some other way.

I've learned.... That no matter how serious your life requires you to be, everyone needs a friend to act goofy with.

I've learned.... That sometimes all a person needs is a hand to hold and a heart to understand.

I've learned.... That simple walks with my father around the block on summer nights when I was a child did wonders for me as an adult.

I've learned.... That life is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer it gets to the end, the faster it goes.

I've learned.... That we should be glad God doesn't give us everything we ask for.

I've learned.... That money doesn't buy class.

I've learned.... That it's those small daily happenings that make life so spectacular.

I've learned... That under everyone's hard shell is someone who wants to be appreciated and loved.

I've learned.... That to ignore the facts does not change the facts.

I've learned.... That when you plan to get even with someone, you are only letting that person continue to hurt you.

I've learned.... That love, not time, heals all wounds.

I've learned.... That the easiest way for me to grow as a person is to surround myself with people smarter than I am.

I've learned.... That everyone you meet deserves to be greeted with a smile.

I've learned.... That no one is perfect until you fall in love with them.

I've learned... That life is tough, but I'm tougher.

I've learned.... That opportunities are never lost; someone will take the ones you miss.

I've learned.... That when you harbour bitterness, happiness will dock elsewhere.

I've learned.... That I wish I could have told my Mom that I love her one more time before she passed away.

I've learned.... That one should keep his words both soft and tender, because tomorrow he may have to eat them.

I've learned.... That a smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks.

I've learned.... That when your newly born grandchild holds your little finger in his little fist, that you're hooked for life.

I've learned.... That everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but all the happiness and growth occurs while you're climbing it.

I've learned.... That the less time I have to work with, the more things I get done.

To all of you.... Make sure you read all the way down to the last sentence.

HAPPY FRIENDSHIP WEEK TO YOU!!!!!! YOU ARE MY FRIEND AND I AM HONORED!

Prayer Request coming your way for Carolyn!

Hi Rose and the Lantern Gang,

Carolyn will undergo surgery tomorrow for the removal of a Melanoma on her back.

All blood work, XRay and EKG..showed normal..so we are optimistic.....

Please keep her in your prayers as we need all the help we can get for something like this...

Will advise you when it's over....with hopefully good news....

It's not really a mole...it's circular lesion that she has had for along time. It has never changed but we are beyond the Dermotologist now.   The Dermo doctor sent us to the UConn Medical Center after the biopsy determined it was a Melanoma and cancerous but on a low grade at the moment.

She went also went back to the Dermotologist for a full body scan for anything suspicious and that went OK It was an EKG for some reason besides the XRay and blood work.

However the medical center took all of the above tests and we spoke with the surgeon who was most confident that it has not spread and this will be a one day procedure.

We are hoping all of what he said rings true and if you can ask our Lantern friends to help us with prayers that would be a relief and a great comfort.  Im sure Carolyn will feel better with more support.

Thanks to you and all of our friends on the Lantern.

God Bless, Sal Carmosino

To Carolyn,

Hugs, Rose and the Lantern Gang!

Great Shares from Ruthie!

Hi Rose,

So sorry this is late, but still wishing you an awesome birthday! Wishing you good health and prosperity in the coming year.

Also, thank you for all the work and time spent keeping our class of '62 together and updated on each other.

Without you I doubt if we would have had such well attended, successful, and enjoyable brunches, luncheons, and reunion.
     Happy Birthday!!
