Rose, I did one better. Since George Manzo is right here in Winchester I went to visit him today. To tell you the truth I thought he looked pretty good for what he has gone through. We had a good time reminiscing about our high school days and about 250 names came up. Yours certainly was one and George said to say "hi" to you. He said he doesn't have a computer because I told him about this wonderful website you have set up. His other half came in and she has a computer so I gave her the websites address so she will hopefully log on. George would be perfect for this as he is such an outgoing person. I hope they do so.
Thanks for keeping everyone up to date by email and this way if someone can do something to make the day better for one of our classmates then it's a wonderful life (as Jimmy Stewart did in the movie).
Hope all is nice and toasty down there.
Arthur
Arthur,
ReplyDeleteI was so touched with your email today. How sweet of you to visit George. He must have been so delighted to see you.
I tried to call him the other night around dinner time and whoever answered the phone said he was down having tests or something.
Wow, to compare the LANTERN to "It's a wonderful Life" is quite a generous compliment..thank you. I am so happy it has brought all of our friends together again.
I hope everyone will give George a call or send a card. You can find the address in the entry below that Joyce Matthews sent to tell us about George and how to reach him.
Hugs, Rose
P.S. Arthur, God Bless you, you did a wonderful thing visiting George.
I just called George again and this time his girlfriend answered the phone and George was having tests done again. She said how happy George was to see Arthur.
ReplyDeleteShe said Scotty called from Maine.
She mentioned George's spirits have been on a nice high knowing his classmates care and that calls, cards are pouring in because of the Lantern.
Just made my day!
Hugs to all of you, I'm so proud to say that you are my Forever Friends!
Be well everyone, exercise and eat right and let's all try to be healthy. If anyone is still smoking....better toss those cigs!
I just joines Silver Sneakers today and thought I was going to faint.....I couldn't keep up with the 80 year olds in the class! LOL
Zumba is next......Heck, I'm trying to stay fit.
Hugs, Rose
Arthur, That was just great that you were able to go and visit George, I am sure he was so pleased and surprised to. When I was in the hospital for my lengthy stay it made me feel so so good to receive all those cards from my class mates. When I woke up and saw all the card that had come in to me and posted on the wall it brought tears to my eyes to see so many people who cared. To know that I was in the prayers of so many was so comforting to me. Good work George....
