Great Shares from Fred Ciampi
Rose-
I am sending these photos to you, as I am no good at all when it comes to posting pictures. I have enclosed photos recently taken at my wife Jeans's 50th Reunion two weeks ago. We drove out and had a great time at the affair lasted three days with a Golf Tourney and a western BBQ. These pictures were taken in the desert outside of Tuscon, AZ.
I have been seeing a lot of Florida addresses, any chance we could work out a get-together? I have the space and would be willing to work with you in putting it together here at my home in Tampa.

Great Shares from Richard Cummings
Well not quite what the title says but I found this statue in Düsseldorf yesterday...I fondly remember playing Bocce in Revere. Did you?

Does anyone remember the RHS school paper, The Newsette?
I only have two copies...one dated February,1960, the other June, 1960. So, I don't know if it was our class or the seniors in 1960 that put this out. The inside says that it was 4 issues for the price of 1.00 each. My two are numbers 2 and 3. In the February issue there are pictures of the 62 class……....a story about Miss Kerr retiring after 42 years of teaching...which means she started teaching in 1918! Yikes!

I'm looking through it now and in the RHS 62 section...it says "a speedy recovery to Dora DiBartolomeo who has had an operation"………..aaaaaaaaaaaaand it has a list of songs from that time with names of our classmates next to them...YOU are listed next to the song "Go Jimmy Go”...shouts Rosie Franciosa......This section was written by Mary Williams and Joanne Angrisano...called "Choice Bits", that whole section was sort of a gossip column and all the lines are who is seeing who and who likes who.........and things like that.
The Newsette does mention Boston Ballroom and the students that attended...many of which were in our class...like Roger Ferullo [of course] Arthur Ferragamo, Joanne Angrisano, Meri Mastronardi and Rosie Franciosa and a few others. I don't why I didn't get all four issues. I seem to remember the first one being sold out before I could get one....so I got two anyhow.
Its fun to look through it cuz it has stories and lots of pictures of other classes many of which I recognized as being ahead of us but never knew their names.
I’m a saver of past memorabilia. My theory about liking more things in the past than now, is that we're getting older and there is more past life than the future and times were simpler and much less responsibilities then and besides reliving old times is fun...cuz they never will change.

These are my photos taken a year ago when I was in Bucharest, Romania giving a paper at a conference. The church is named Biserica Sf. Spiridon Vechi, which was “founded in the 17th century by some Christian Syrian merchants, still preserves the original inscription with Arab writing. Demolished during the Nicolae Ceausescu regime, it was rebuilt identically after 1990.”

Great Shares from Estella (Follett) Pohner
Estella (Follett) Pohner fulfilled her dreams!
Estella surprised me with a phone call one evening. She tracked me down as my telephone number is listed. It was a delight to speak to her after all these years. She is currently living in Foxboro, MA. She is widowed. She has two great sons who live in another state. Estella is a survivor of a heart attack.
Estella informed me that she loves the Lantern and would love to participate but the only computer she has is the one in the bank she works in part time. Therefore, she said she would like to tell me a story she would love to share with our classmates.
Unless there was a misunderstanding, I have been waiting for Estella to write this story out for me and put it in the mail for me. Since I have not received anything yet, I’m going to give you a quick synopsis of what she would like to portray and later, if I do receive that letter, I can redo her Great Shares with you with the detailed information that only she can provide.
Estella said she was always impressed with the book “The Good Earth” that she read while in high school. The Good Earth is a classic novel by a Nobel Prize-winning author who offers a graphic view of China during the reign of the last Emperor, and tells the story of an honest farmer and his wife as they struggle with the sweeping changes of the twentieth century.
Well, Estella had the opportunity to fulfill her dreams by going to China with Ou When Wei as her Guide. He is known as the Master O. Ou Wen Wei is a Qigong Grand Master, author, healer, teacher, and director of Guangzhou University Science Research Institute in China
Estella spent 3 ½ weeks in China! She loved every minute of this wonderful trip of a lifetime.

Good to hear from you! I am sad to say that I do not remember the Newsette. What can that possibly mean??? Hmmm? I think..oh, I forget what I was going to say!!! (LOL)
Thanks for sending Dora’s address. I haven’t had a chance to write to her as I wish to do. I will do so one of these days. When I saw her photo on the blog, I couldn’t believe how she looks exactly the same as I remember her. She looks terrific! By the way, I love the Guest Book. Thanks for putting my pic in for me. It’s such fun to see old friends.
I can’t believe how busy my life is. However, I think that it is a good thing. I retired and am doing so much more now. That is a frequent comment made by so many, but I don’t think that I really believed it, until I started living it.
How nice that you go to aqua-aerobics. I do, as well and love, love, love it! I go three mornings a week and would go every day, if I didn’t have other things to do. I was always so tired and busy when I worked. I never made time for myself. That was a big mistake! Now I do the aerobics, golf at least once a week (Spring thru Fall), am in a monthly book club, a monthly dinner club, a social group with the gals from the pool, walk with a friend and go to Weight Watchers every week among other things. I fit in my appointments among my “social life”, but it ain’t easy. I can no longer complain about not having time for myself. After all, we must set our priorities!
Are you planning any trips back to Boston in the near future? If so, be sure to get in touch with me. I’d love to see you. Estella and I hoped to get together this past summer with Donna and Diane, but our plans never materialized. I would love to see everyone. It was such fun to see people at Diane’s get together last winter.
Well, Rosie. Keep up that wonderful work that you do on the computer. I hold you in highest esteem for your super skills. You have brought a new sparkle into the lives of many of us. I personally thank you!
