"The sun rises, yet shines not". Yes, it's the summer and almost the 4th of July, one of my favorite holidays, but this year, things are different. Why, you may ask? Well, for you folks outside of New England, it's because of the weather. You may have heard something about it on the news, but that does not convey the oppressiveness of being under this massive wet blanket for so long. I mean, we haven't seen the sun for more than 20 minutes in months (or so it seems). . . and it is has been decidedly cool, overcast, rainy and gray for days. Now, I am still planning my annual cookout/pool party, but wonder if the sun will come out and if it be warm enough to swim. (I just returned from a 3-mile walk around Breakheart Reservation and it poured buckets the whole time.) Of course, everything is lush and green and beautiful, but still. . .this is not the Pacific Northwest nor the rural countryside of England. Where, oh where, is summer?
Happy Fourth everyone. I'm not sure where I will see the fireworks. All the beaches here have fireworks and downtown St,Pete on the waterfront has a big display also. We had been in a drought here for so long but the past two weeks we have had rain off and on mainly on. Although it is suppossed to be dry for the Fouth. Enjoy the weekend everyone. Janice
Hi Everyone, Happy Fourth. I do hope that you all enjoy the day. I still remember going to the "park" for the fourth. They had some kind of fireworks, I can't be sure exactly what, but we went 'hang out' anyway. LOL Oh yes, there was always parking on the beach to see the fire works ! Ya...... HAVE A GREAT FOURTH
Rose,
ReplyDeleteGreat picture and animation! I'm impressed.
Hi Ruthie,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the compliments! I try hard with my graphics.
Enjoy the 4th! As for me, I was invited to a BBQ with the Widow's Group but I just don't feel like going for some reason.
I'll just hang out at home I guess and read a good book.
Hugs, Rose
