GREAT STRIDES is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s largest and most successful national fundraising event. This year, we are walking in the GREAT STRIDES walk at the 2010 Wakefield – Town Common at Lake Quannapowitt on May 15, 2010 at 9:30 AM in memory of our beloved grandson, Ronan James McCarthy.
Ronan and his family received outstanding care and support during his too short life at the CF Pulmonary Clinic at Children’s Hospital Orange County California. His bravery, engaging personality, and loving heart, have left an indelible mark on all those who met him and knew him. As a family, we supported the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in the pursuit of a cure and in their work to enable CF patients a continually improve their quality of life. We had such high hopes for a cure to be found in Ronan’s lifetime. Sadly, we lost Ronan on December 19, 2008 at the age of 3. We continue to support this most worthy organization as Team Star Striders, named for Ronan as he was and is our family’s shining “star”. Please help us to meet our fundraising goal by sponsoring us. Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is a devastating genetic disease that affects tens of thousands of children and young adults in the United States. Research and care supported by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is making a huge difference in extending the quality of life for those with CF.
