Rose: 47 classmates is indeed a lot to lose since we had over 400 in our graduating class.
ReplyDeleteI did go to Georges wake and funeral. I had a chance to speak to Joanne at the wake yesterday and she was so appreciative of the cards and emails George received. She said every time he received one he perked right up.
I think anyone who ever met George never forgot him. A perfect example of that is when I came home from the wake I had a phamplet which was given out at the wake which was three pages of pictures of George from his childhood thru his adult years and I showed it to Sandra, my fiancee, and she said when she saw Georges picture she said 'that's George" and I said yes and she said she remembered him. That would have been from our last reunion, the 45th, which was over two and a half years ago. She definitely remembered him when George and I were talking at the table. Yes, George had a way of making an impression when you met him.
This website, Rose, is such a great way of communication for our class of "62" all thanks to you. Without it we wouldn't know of Georges passing or any of our classmates unless we caught in the newspaper which many times is unlikely. This, of course, is sad news for all of us but, on the other hand, it also spreads a great amount of joy and happiness renewing our acquaintances and keeping up with all the latest information for our special class of "62"
So thank you for all you do for us and for starting this wonderful website.
Arthur
