Hi Rose
ReplyDeleteI have been enjoying seeing the pictures of former classmates on The Lantern. I thought you and your readers would enjoy seeing more. The friends in the pictures have been still getting together every year since high school. We still get together a few times a year even though we live in different areas. These pictures were taken in Plymoth, Ma, Methuen Ma, and the final one in Maine.
You will see Martha Santos Tuberosa "62, Ann Diamond Belliveau "62, Elaine Sampson Balboni "60, Connie Moore Loveitt "62, Kathy Larson Binda "62, Jane Stanton Doherty "62, and Cheryl Fasbender Maroney "62 - Immaculate.
Keep up the good work you are doing keeping so many people in touch.

Jane, thankyou for posting those pictures, I have been working on matching names to faces...It is so great to see that you all still maintain your friendship after all these years. I have been piecing together things, You I believe married Mike Doherty from Beachmont, I think some one told me that Ann married someone from Falmouth,( I think Ellen Legrow told me that years ago) Kathy Larson, is she married to Dickie Binda? I remember him somewhat, I think as part of the Beachmont crowd. Ahhh the trip down memory lane...........Thanks

Hi Rose and Dora
ReplyDeleteI did marry Mike Doherty from Beachmont and we have been together now for almost 43 years. We retired to Florida 2 and 1/2 years ago and are enjoying the beautiful weather. We live on the West Coast in Punta Gorda.
Ann did marry Roland Beliveau from Falmouth and they still are living there. Kathy larson also married Dick Binda. She is living in Salem NH.
Rose - the first picture, taken in Methuen Ma shows left to right: Martha Santos Tuberosa, myself, Ann Diamond Belliveau, Kathy Larson Binda , Elaine Sampson Balboni, Connie Moore Loveitt, and Cheryl Fasbender Maroney.
Martha is living in Kingston, Ma.
Connie, Kathy, Elaine and Cheryl are all in Salem NH.
Hi Dora
ReplyDeleteI thought you might enjoy going back to the July 2, 2008 post from Richard Cummings to see another Beachmont picture. On September 29, 2008 I sent in a list of the names from that great picture.
Jane
Hi Jane,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update with the names, I had you and Kathy right everyone else was not clear to me.
I will say this you all look great.I remember Mike and Dick, I believe they both went to St. Mary.s in Lynn...I think. Say Hi to Mike for me, I am not sure he even remembers me.
There are quite a few of you living in Fla.
I retired a few year ago and hope to move to our house in Arizona as soon as my husband retires. I too am heading to the sun....
Stay in touch.
Dora
Hi Jane,
ReplyDeleteFred Ciampi once mentioned he would love to have a get together at his place in the Tampa area.
I have not heard from Fred in a while. I would like to gather all of the names of our classmates that currently live in Florida.
I'm in Boca Raton, Janice Scandone is in St. Pete.
So, everyone........give me some information as to who lives in Florida!
Hugs, Rose
Hi Janie,
ReplyDeleteI have just discovered The Lantern. What a great idea someone had. I think the last time I saw you was after the wake for Rita's husband. Or maybe it was when we got together with Connie, Elaine, Cheryl, etc. It's a blur. How have you been? My fondest memory of those times are all the "pajama parties" at your house, and the endless summers of sitting on the sea wall flirting with boys from East Boston. I'm still living in NH. I remember Richard Cummings and Ellen Crowley from the Mary T. Ronan school. Beachmont was a fun place to grow up. I still drive down there once a year to the old neighborhood, visit some old friends of my parents. I am still doing art work, sales are down with the economy being so crappy, but enjoying life nevertheless. Been married 42 years now. Will probably be having knee replacement surgery this summer. Getting older truly sucks.

Ruth, Your art work is fantastic. I absolutly loved the colors. What is funny is that when I saw your work, some of Richards photos came to mind. The facination and understanding of color must be a Beachmont thing. LOL

Hi Ruthie
ReplyDeleteHow nice to hear from you. I too remember all the fun Beachmont was when we were all in grammar school and right on through high school we all stayed good friends. Michael and I have also been married 42 years and raised five children. We are blessed that they are all doing well. Three are living in California and two in Massachusetts. I retired from the IRS a few years back and we are now living in Punta Gorda Florida enjoying the wonderful weather.
I remember when you got together with "the girls" for lunch, but sadly I didn't make it that day. Hope the opportunity will come again. Keep in touch. Your art work is beautiful. I remember you always had a gift.
Jane
Janie, I do remember going to some "event" or whatever in Boston with you and Connie and Elaine(?) or others. You had only just retired from the IRS at the time. On the way back we stopped in Tyngsboro at a Chinese restaurant, and you told me that your cousin Albie was living in Bedford. And as it turned out, his daughter and mine know each other, both graduated from Ithaca College, in the same field, and both worked at Crotched Mountain. My daughter no longer works there, decided she really didn't care for working at what she majored in. She is now at Fidelity and really enjoys it working in 401K stuff. I often wonder what is going on with Rita these days. Glad you are enjoying Florida while we are shoveling snow or doing without power.
ReplyDeleteHi Dora, Thank you for your kind words about my art work. The work on that website (east colony) is older stuff, but, you're right, I do like bright colors, and my newer art work is also very bright. I saw that Janet Campello is living in Manchester NH, right next to Bedford where I live. Do you know if she is still doing art? I may try to look her up. She and I spent a lot of time talking at one of the RHS reunions. (Might have been the 10th????) Are you still living in Revere, or in the Boston area?
ReplyDeleteHi Ruthie, I have been retired for a few years , my husband has yet to retire. When he does we plan on moving to our house in Goodyear Arizona. We just vacation there now. We have four children, two live in Seattle WA. one in Jacksville Fla and one still at home....I live in Hanover which is just south of Boston. The most contact I have had with our classmates is through the lantern. I stayed in touch with Janice Scandone and visited with her and Rose a few years ago after more years than I can remember.
ReplyDeleteI never went to any of the reunions and I do regret that. Hopefully I will get to the dinner in May. So far I am planning to.
I do hope that you can post some of your favorite pieces of art , I am sure that we would all enjoy that.
Love your additions to the Lantern.
