I'm here to join the Lantern website that great class of 1962. Pete Russo, my good friend, told me about this website and blog and also gave me your email address.
I think it's great you have done this. I've checked out the website somewhat and I have all those great memories come right back when I see the names and pictures. You have done a great job. Thank You.
I'll be checking to see who is joining and also as to additional news as it comes up.
I'll bet everyone says "where has the last 47 years gone" and I'm saying the same thing.
Thanks, again.
Arthur
Arthur,
ReplyDeleteArthur,
So excited you decided to join us. Yes, we all agree, we are a special bunch from Revere and we had the best class!
So glad Pete Russo told you about The Lantern. I encourage everyone to tell all of our classmates to contact me and get on board and let's enjoy this ride together!
Hugs,Rose
Rose: Thanks for the computer instructions-I need them. I'll try to follow those but I always don't have luck. But I do know how to go to the archives on the website. Upload a photo I'd be afraid to even try for fear I might "blow up" the computer. But I might leave a comment or two.
ReplyDeleteFlorida sounds real good as this winter has been very bad here (here being in Winchester, Ma.-I didn't stray far). I hope as do all other classmates that the economy turns around soon.
My very best to you and I'll check out your "roses are red" blogspot as well.
Did anyone in our class ever think we would be emailing with our classmates back in "62". Wonders of wonders!
I love the "how've you bee-n?" with the bee buzzing around. Pretty talented-I'd say.
Arthur
Arthur,
ReplyDeleteWhen I responded back to your email this morning and since you liked the "how've you bee-n?" with the bee buzzing around graphic, I decided to add it to our "Welcome" entry.
Thank you for your kind words and compliments.
Who knew 47 years later, we all would be together again here on the Lantern! Diane Screnci Beatrice and John Henry had a great idea when they asked me to attempt to create something.
I liked playing with graphics but I had not clue as to what to do to entertain our class.
Sal Carmosino has helped alot and Richard Cummings too providing me with topics to discuss and participating when I was feeling defeated, as I was not getting any comments at the beginning. Thanks again guys! And, now thank you to everyone.........the ball is rolling and everyone expresses their enjoyment and that we miss our gang from Revere! LOL
Hugs,Rose
Arthur, I agree, I never could have imagined being on line with former class mates and connecting and re-connecting with them as we are. When ever some new signs in I look them up in my old year book and read the entry about them and wonder. Do you still have your year book? Stay in touch and anxious for your comments and anything you may choose to share.

Hi Arthur,
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the Lantern Club....
I remember seeing you at the
last reunion. We, who were there
didnt want it to end and we havnt
thru this blog that Rose has created.
Now we dont have to wait 5 years
between reunions. Stay with us
and tell us what you ve been doing
these past [few] 47 years!
Sal
Dora; To answer your question, yes, I do still have my yearbook. I've also gone to review it after seeing the names in the "Lantern". All of the faces have come back to me.
ReplyDeleteSal: I've seen you at the last several reunions and it's always a pleasure to chat with you. I did manage to "open" your pictures and see the beautiful home you have in Tolland, Ct. Wish you and your wife many happy years there.
Sal, may we always remember with fondness (we can say that now) the memories we had when Mrs. Olga Mafera was in charge of out classroom.
Arthur
Rose, Boca is very nice as I was there a couple of times several years ago. Very sorry to hear of your husbands passing in 2001.
ReplyDeleteTwelve brothers and sisters-you must have had a Franciosa graduating every year from RHS for over a decade. The "Franciosa" name should have a plaque on the wall. Seriously, that's a big family. I can see why you miss being away. I hope the economy turns around so that you can make it back here.
I moved to Winchester in 1984 but I never saw a Rolls Royce in Winchester center so I assume it was gone before I moved here.
I never married but I have been engaged to the same girl for 25 years and I should think that counts for something. She is from the North End originally and now we both live here in Winchester. I worked for the same company for 40 years and retired in 2004. You would know the company as Zurich but before Zurich took it over it was Fidelity and Deposit Company of Maryland. I spent 40 years there writing surety bonds-an interesting job.
My sister and her husband bought a place in Pompano a couple of years ago and she spends about six months a year there. She has been after us to go down and stay for a while but we just haven't made it down.
I see that "Sal" and "Dora" have written "welcome" notes to me and I'd love to email them but am not quite sure how to do it. If you could give me some direction as to how to email them I'd appreciate it and would give it a try.
Hope today is another day that you can enjoy the pool.
Thank You,
Arthur
Arthur,
ReplyDeleteYou picked it up quicky! Kudos! Now we need your picture. Does anyone have Arthur's picture from the reunion that I can snag?????
Most of my brothers and sisters are much older than me. Most all went to school in the North End in Boston. Also, two marriages involved as my mother's first husband passed away and then she married my father. So, the last name for only three of us children were Franciosa....the rest is Oddi and I still have one brother that lives on Little Prince Street in the North End, his last name is Tony Oddi and his wife's name is Dolly. Perhaps your girlfriend may know him...he owns the building that is above that fabulous Italian Restaurant that I can't think of the darn name for the life of me right now.......oh this memory thing drives me nuts! LOL I think there is only one restaurant on Little Prince Street.
Hugs, Rose
