Recently someone gave me a couple of books about Revere, written by a Revere native-----Roland Merullo. Two of his books (there may be more) are about Revere and growing up in the '50's. One is titled Revere Beach Boulevard, and the other Revere: In Those Days. Both books are fiction but sound almost autobiographical.
They are easy reads and very reminiscent of what it was like back then. In one of the books, he writes about growing up on Prospect Ave. Maybe everyone on THE LANTERN is already familiar with them (and I'm just slow discovering them) but if not they might enjoy the books as much as I did.

Hi Ruthie,
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of these books but I'm heading out to the Library today in search of them.
Wow, talked about Prospect Ave? I lived on Fenno Street and so many friends lived on Prospect, Diane, Meri, Jeanine, Ronnie Lanza, Mike Jordan.
Thanks for the Gread Send.
Hugs, Rose
I have in my hands a copy of the book REVERE BEACH BOULEVARD. I don't remember if I finished it, which is strange for me. I will have to read this book
