Great Shares from Joanne (Strazzula) McCarthy

Hi Rosie,

A friend sent this to me today. I thought of you and “The Lantern” right away and thought that you may like to post it on “The Lantern”. It is a very touching piece. In fact, it moved me to tears. I hope that it is genuine, but in any case the sentiment is well worth viewing.

I hope that all is well with you. I want to express a long overdue thank you to you for your kindness to post my letter. I received emails from several old friends. I was too devastated to respond at the time, but their kind expressions of love and compassion have been comforting and have helped me to bear the pain of our tragic loss. I thank everyone who responded to your posting, sent emails, spirituals, donations, and masses.

I hope that you enjoy “The Lion”. I’ll be in touch.

Much love,
Joanne

  1. Hi Joanne,

As promised, I figured out how to place the video on the Lantern...didn't take me long. Sometimes, I amaze myself. I knew I couldn't put it in as an attachment like you do in emails....

Thank you for sharing with all of us.

Again, I keep you and your family in my daily prayers. I do believe in the power of prayers.

    Hugs, Rose

  2. Joanne, I loved the video. What came to mind for me was a line from Kahil Gibran on Children.
'your children are your children but not for your keeping'. They set him free as he needed to be but he still remembered them, remembered them, and loved them. I can see that transfering to friendship too. We all shared a lot in our youth, we built foundations in friendship that years do not distroy , no matter how many years have past. It is so nice to hear from those we knew and when we do it is as if time is just a word. Sometimes we just don't realize how nice it is to re-connect even with just a 'hello'. It does put a soft smile on ones face.
Thanks Joanne for the 'food for thought'
