Saucer Magnolia by Richard Cummings

Hi Rose,

Thanks for the German language note. That was nice of you to do so.

Spring is jumping out here all over the place. Even the trees are smiling. I shot this magnolia tree today. Hope you like the collage.

Ciao for now. Rich

  2. Hi Rich,
I just love the set up of the pictures. The Magnolia's are just beautiful. This is a great time of year, the flowers are doing a beautiful job of greeting spring and you are doing your job of capturing their beauty and sharing it with us.

Will you be staying put for the Holidays or do you have travel plans? In any case, Enjoy the holidays,
    Dora

  3. Thanks for the nice comment, Dora. It is supposed to rain this weekend, so I think it will be a quiet Easter.
But thanks for asking. Hope you have a very happy one with your new shoes!!! I remember walking on Revere Beach Blvd with a girlfriend who just had to wear her knew skirt, blouse, and shoes...and it snowed. Take care. Anon

  5. Thanks for the beautiful pictures of the magnolias. My neighbor has a magnolia tree and I can't wait for it to bloom every year.

    Have a nice Easter.

  6. Revere Beach was the place to go to show of your new outfit. We did this on Palm Suday too. Walk the boulevard. I have been racking my brain trying to remember the name of the Ice Cream place we would head out to. It was all part of the ritual. I am sure you took your girl friend wearing her new/knew shoes there.... LOL
If we had a real special outfit we would got to Mass at St. Anthony's , at least that is what those of us from Immaculate would do. Others (the guy's) would try to sneak into the back of the lower church at Immaculate and pray that the priest would not call them to the front to fill in the empty seats. Oh those were the days..........

  7. No fair, showing off your magnolias.......I still have snow in my back yard here in the southern part of NH, and in the front yard, a massive layer of oak leaves to rake.

  8. Hi Richie,
Just had a chance to view the whole gallery. . . again, what gorgeous photos! Well, it's cold, raw and rainy here in New England today, (although yesterday we reached 62)and although there are a few crocuses and daffodils brave enough to poke their heads through the cold surface, we really are starved for outdoor color. Then, to see the beautiful blossoms you have photographed there in Germany (I'm assuming) well, it's almost sensory overload. How wonderful! But I'm ready for Easter. . .and soon our forsythia, rhododendron and azaleas will be in bloom and then we'll also be aflame in riotous color.
    Hallelujah!
