  2. Rose,
I didnt expect you to put my eye condition in the Lantern but
since you did, I have been getting several emails of concern
and offers of prayers for my sight recovery from our classmates.
I do appreciate everyone's concern......and with everyone and St. Jude's help I will see again fully......God bless.

I tried to put a response into the Lantern, even with my google
account and it still wont take. Can I send you my message of
thanks to Richard for his comments about us newsboys of the 1950's
and the Radio Free Europe Campaign, for you to put it in the Lantern?

    Many thanks for everything,
    Sal

  3. Sal, Hope your eye "gets better" fast and that you "can see clearly" and non-conjunctivitisly soon!
Missed seeing you and Carolyn at the last Lantern Luncheon and hope we can have another chance to meet in the near future.

  5. Thank you Richard for your detailed story about the Radio Free Europe Campaign of the 1950's.

I can remember putting the envelopes into the newspapers for customers to contribute. I seem to remember the campaign was during 1958 when I first started my paper route.

We never heard about the success of the campaign so I was very happy to see your story about how much money was collected during that time. It nice to see our small efforts contributed to such a massive effort nationwide.

Most of my customers would tell me that they mailed the envelope in although some gave it to me
to turn in with my paper money collection.

Thank you again Richard for recognizing us for a project so long ago.

    Sal
