  1. I define golf as a sport where I have a tendancy to throw my golf clubs on each hole thus negating my chances to score under 150. I am, however, a master of the 19th hole.

  2. The great and recently decease comedian George Carlin said something like,
"you take a crooked stick and it a ball...then walk after it...and then HIT IT AGAIN." Objectively, he is right.  It does not take a great intellect to play golf.
On the other hand, there is something magic about being the first one out in the morning, when the greens are still covered with dew...and you see the path of the ball and your footprints on the grass.  Or when, you are a pre-teen and your father takes you along as a caddy, and you stop on Rt. 1 in Saugus for a fresh donut and hot chocolate on the way to Mt. Hood to meet your uncles, who are joining for a round of golf.  They tell jokes you do not understand, you chase after balls they hit in the woods, and you love the day, and say, "this is as good as it gets."  FOUR!.

  3. Rose,

Jack had no idea I sent the picture to you.  Wait until he sees this! What a good job you've done.  The picture was taken at Trump National Golf Club in Palos Verdes last spring.  Gheez Rose, Jack didn't write anything as sweet as he wrote to you in the yearbook. Too funny!

Rich, Jack will appreciate the "doesn't take a great intellect" comment.  He loves everything about the game.  Some courses are in such beautiful surroundings. You can probably tell from the picture that John drives the ball a little further than his Dad.  They will be playing 'The Bridges' course here in San Diego in July.  It's private but John knows the golf pro.  I think Phil Mickelson lives there.  The Trump course is incredible.

Jim Sullivan, your comment is hysterical...

  4. Oh! Jack's score.  I'll find out his handicap.  I'm sure he is going to say "my swing".

    Have a wonderful day...
