Peter Zaccone & Diane! Utube SSC 2009

Thought you might enjoy seeing Peter and Diane ("the love of his life") dancing at Salem Country Club the other night. Isn't he terrific?

This was taken by one of our dance class members after our ballroom dance lesson. (He threatens to put all of us on "youTube" in the near future!)

Meanwhile, tonight I'm joining Peter and Diane and another couple from our class at the Park Plaza in Boston for The Winter Ball, a formal affair (Scott's wearing a tux) with a great orchestra, where we will have our "recital". . . well, not really, but we will be practicing our moves on the dance floor. Wish I could send pictures!

I wonder if you could somehow post the youTube video of Peter's dancing on the Lantern??

Merry Christmas,
Meri

  2. Peter is amazing on the dance floor. He is truly the Arthur Murray of our class! Sorry, Roger
Ferrullo...you are the Rock and Roller of our class.....

Why do Florida people enjoy hearing about snowstorms
in the North and then have to tell us about warm temps there?

Hey, it wouldnt be Christmas without a little snow. Its hard to believe how people can get into the spirit of the season in 80 degree temps and wearing shorts.

  3. Sal,
Yes, Peter and Diane dance great together. It was a pleasure to receive this Utube from Meri to share with us.

Trust me, it never feels like Christmas here in Florida without the snow and 80 temps. That's why I'm usually in Boston.

I'll be in the pool Xmas day while you are sitting in front of your fireplace!

  7. Meri,

O.K. you guys were dancing at the Park Plaza and the men wore a tux.....I just have to have some photos! You know every man looks so handsome in a tux. Plus, I've never met Scott.

Who was the other couple that are our classmates that went? No secrets.....

Oh, how I wish I were there........I'm the happiest when on the dance floor but it has been years since I've glided across the ballroom dance floor.......dare to dream! Nothing is better than dancing!

I'm so happy you are enjoying it so much and who knew Peter would turn out to be a wonderful dance instructor and judge! Kudos!

Can't wait to see him and Diane in the Spring when they come to Florida.

  8. Rose,
Oh, I'm so sorry but not one of us thought to bring a camera. . . so, unfortunately, no photos! Can you believe it? We ladies were all formally be-gowned and glamorous and the men, in their tuxedos, were dashing, and what do we have to show for it? Nothing! I wish I had had my wits about me and had brought my digital camera.
But, on another note, I'm afraid that I have confused you. . . the other couples were from our dance class at the country club, not our high school class, so you would not know them.

And the evening at the Park Plaza was wonderful. The event is called the Winter Ball and it has a long and illustrious history, which I've just learned about. Apparently, debutantes used to be "presented" at this affair, but not any longer. It has been going on since the 40's, so they say. There were elegantly dressed people (some with very high-class connections) who danced well to a large band (The Eddie Madden Orchestra) in a beautiful, multi-chandeliered ballroom. . .all very Cafe Society a la Noel Coward in Hollywood movies from the l930's. . . if you get my drift. So it was grand and fun and I'm glad I had the opportunity to go and dance.
I'm like you, Rose. . . I love to be out on the dance floor. . . and I'm happiest when I can glide around to all different types of music. Remember when we used to go to the Lakeside Ballroom in Wakefield? That was so much fun. You introduced me to that place and I
    am happy you did!
Looking forward to seeing you either here or in Florida.

  9. Meri,

I do recall all the debutantes used the Park Plaza for their "Coming Out" dance or party or whatever! That didn't quite include us "Revere" girls! LOL

I guess I did get confused...I thought you mentioned another couple that were our classmates also attended the special gala affair.

How can I ever forget the beautiful, romantic evenings at the Lakeside Ballroom in Wakefield. I think Diane Screnci used to drive us all there, as we didn't have a car but Diane did but she would drop us off and then she took off to meet Chuckie while we danced all night long under the moonlight by the lake in Wakefield.

Those were nice memories and great dancers.

Someone is going to have to buy a small digital pocket size camera. My daughter taught me to carry one with me no matter where I am....never want to miss the opportunity of a great memory.

I'm all excited that I will be able to see possibly you and Peter too here in Florida or when I come back up to Boston around Mother's Day.

Miss you guys! Glad you had a great time and I'm sure you all looked smashing! Oh pictures would have been great memories!

So happy you all enjoyed a good evening.

    Hugs, Rose

  10. That was the St. Nicholas Cotillion that was held . That was quite the event.
Sounds as if you all had a wonderful time. It is not too often these days that you get to wear that formal wear. That is just fantastic. I cannot believe not pictures ! Next time.....
