We all remember this famous Poster of Farrah in that red bathing suit, that awesome smile, tousled hair and her sensuality were Farrah Fawcett's trademarks, as a sex symbol and 1970s TV star in "Charlie's Angels." But as her life drew to a close at age 62, she captivated the public in a far different way: as a cancer patient who fought for and then surrendered her fight with the awful disease of anal cancer.
Farrah fought a terrible fight for nearly three years after being diagnosed with anal cancer. Ryan O'Neal, her longtime love who returned to her side when she became ill, was with her.
Farrah's son is in jail. So sad.
Wow, we lost two Icons in one day! Sad.
ReplyDeleteI saw that special that she did about her battle with cancer. She is certainly a remarkable woman. The fact that she even did the documentary shows just how much so.
ReplyDeleteShe opens our eyes to the reality of things we do not want to face.
She did this with her portrail of the battered wife in the BURNING BED. She was a very special woman, I will always remember the picture of her at the hospital with her rosary beads......
For a long time I thought she was just another pretty Hollywood face surrounded by lots of hair. But after watching "Farrah's Story", her documentary on her battle with cancer, I have a whole new respect for her. Took a lot of courage to show all the down and dirty aspects of this horrible disease.
