Hi Rose...I read with interest about the Tall Ships coming to Boston, especially Dora's message.
The attached is not the best quality (with lotsa grain) but it is my photo of the USS Constitution escorting the Tall Ships into Boston, 1976, if you would like to share it with others. And, maybe someone else has a photo or two to share.
You can see the smoke from the Constitution's canons on the left side (port) of the ship. I got to South Boston about 4 AM, in order to watch the ships come in later that morning. A wonderful experience.

ReplyDeleteThanks for that picture of Old Iron Sides. That must have been something to see. There is something about seeing her in the harbor escorting the tall ships in that that I am sure is unforgetable. I am glad that the city resolved there problems and allowing the ships to come into Boston. I will not go out to see it, but I will enjoy seeing the footage of it in the news, and it is a nice feeling knowing they are there.
