A Little Ice and Shadows of Chicago and next stop, Wisconsin!

For anyone suffering from the heat anywhere-..this was taken today on my way to Chicago...it is the East Coast of Greenland (not Iceland)...from 36,000 feet. You can guess at the size of the icebergs at the top of the photo. You can also see the crack in the ice field below the mountains. Not the best quality photo but you get the idea. Ciao for now. Rich

Postcards from Chicago

All will go
And one day
We will hold
Only the shadows

Here is a postcard from Madison, Wisconsin. Ciao for now.

  1. Hi Rich,

Thanks for the postcards from Chicago! So what brings you there? Are you promoting your book? I know you are working on your second book now.

You've been doing a lot of traveling lately. Do tell....we are all interested to hear!

    Hugs, Rose

  2. Rich:

Enjoyed the picture of the ice
and the photos of Chicago. We could definitely use a little of that ice down here in Florida.
Even a little rain would help.

  3. Hi. Was in Chicago on my way to Madison, Wisconsin, to finish up
another phase of my research. I will be there for the week, then to
DC for a week, spend the 4th of July with
my family in San Diego and fly back to Düsseldorf. Have a nice
Sunday. By the way, Father's day in Germany was a few weeks, ago.
    Ciao for now.=Rich

  4. Just arrived in Madison...a total college/university town. Grey and humid.

Turned on my Mac..found the wireless connection and voila here I am, again. The clerk is a nice guy and an engineering student...I paid cash for the week, gave him the money and told him to give me 46 dollars back. Unh, unh, he had to go into the computer to do the math...after 30 seconds, he said, "Yes, 46 dollars." I said, "Guess you never learned to do math in your head." Ah the joys and tribulations of the computer world.

  5. Rich,

Interesting, I didn't know Father's Day was celebrated much earlier in Germany!

    Happy Father's Day Rich!

  6. Rich,
loved the pictures, I would never have thought to take pictures of the view....
I loved the quote from Sandburg, it is at these times that I miss the "Little Book of Poetry and Verse" that I bought at the high school book fair. For what ever reason I always remember that book little yellow book when I read poetry.
