I hope all the fathers out there have a wonderful Fathers Day.

Why do they always have quotes re fathers from (or about) sons but not daughters? I wish to express my strong feelings about my dearly beloved Dad on this Father's Day, the 10th anniversary of his death. He was such a kind, loving man with a generous, good-hearted nature who became more mellow and fun to be with as he aged. He taught me (by his own actions) to treat others fairly and equitably, and thus I learned that all people, no matter their station in life, deserve respect. I learned, from his example, to speak up on behalf of the "underdog", and I absorbed his old-fashioned but timeless values of "doing what's right" and having integrity as much as I could. He was a simple, humble man who loved his family more than anything. I miss him terribly and wish, with all my heart, that he were still around to share my life with. He was and always will be my hero.
ReplyDeleteMeri,
ReplyDeleteI meant to say, that was beautifully said. I know how much you miss your wonderful Dad. I miss mine too!
God Bless.

My father's birthday fell on Father's Day this year. He died in 1982, and I still miss him. He was a very kind, affectionate man who loved to sing, loved the outdoors, and loved me very much. Although he worked at three different jobs, he was always a very strong presence in my life and I can still sometimes hear him singing. Happy Father's Day.
